In MEMORY OF DORCAS LUNDAMBUYU LEWANIKA, WHO RULED KALABO AS MBOAJIKANA 1959 – 1995
One of the cornerstones of development is the provision of consistent and comprehensive education to young children. The most basic and important need in education is literacy. This teaches young children, especially girls, fundamental knowledge to acquire qualifications and skills which give them the opportunity to take responsibility of their own lives.
Mwangala Mwenda Foundation provides scholarships to children in to support the literacy programme the Government has already put in place. The scholarships are given to children in primary and secondary school.
The Dorcas Lundambuyu Lewanika Scholarship covers the cost of sending children to school for the academic year. To remain in the program, a child must complete the school year with satisfactory grades and attendance.
The Mwangala Mwenda Foundation through the Dorcas Lundambuyu Lewanika Scholarship provides financial support to vulnerable pupils from schools across Kalabo District.
